End of the year scrapbooking

I squeezed some time in last night to get these layouts done.  I used an add on kit from that kit company I used to belong to.  The two page layout is a beautiful blue sky weekend at the Resnik's where the kiddos got to shoot guns with the Dads.  The one page layout is from Thanksgiving weekend 2014 where the ladies and kiddos spent the morning at the Zoo.

I need to spend more time in 2016 scrapbooking!  Happy New Year!

Baptism

Sorry I haven't paid much attention to the blog, it is just that time of year.  I haven't had much mojo lately for scrapbooking but I need to fix that because I need to get all of 2014 in the books so I don't fall to far behind.  This is a fairly simple layout of David's baptism last year.

I never once pressured David into being baptized.  I never even mentioned the thought to him.  I know how he works and if he was going to do it, it would be when he was ready.  He always attended mass with us a family and I think he was ready to fully participate.  Plus I think Ashley preparing for her First Communion was a factor also.  On Ashley's First Communion David took his Second, just a little interesting fact there.

Two layouts

I have broken up with my who should not be named kit club .  They have changed a lot in the past few months (cancellation terms, cost, dwindling contents) and really alienated long time customers.  But I still have a few kits laying around that I need to use up.  I used the March Odyssey kit and scraplifted a layout by Tracy.

Again I used my March Odyssey kit and scraplifted a layout by Cari Orellan.

Another reason why I've broken up with who should not be named kit club....there website sucks and I can't link to the layouts I scraplifted.  I do like these layouts but not enough to spend my dollars at the who should not be named kit club.....hehe.

Float Trip

Last summer we took the big kids on their first ever float trip. We decided to do the Black River versus the Current River since you could do a shorter float and the Black does not have as fast a current.  It was a beautiful day and I think everyone had fun...well except for maybe Abby.  I will never forget the look Abby gave me on this trip!  We were bungeed three wide and Abby and I were in the front on the outside.  We were coming into a turn in the river that we were going to have to paddle hard thru to keep form being pushed into the cliff.  As I was instructing Abby to row she looked at me in full terror and screamed "We're going to die!".  We weren't really in any danger and of course we made it thru with no problems.  The best part Megan was sitting on a cooler behind us munching on cheese puffs like nothing was going on.  Love those kiddos!

I wish we could have gone this year also, but weekends are hard to come by in the summer.  Look out 2016 WE ARE COMING BACK!!!

it's a beautiful life

Ahh I squeezed in a little time for myself last night and completed this page.  Scrapbook Generation made it easy since I used one of their kits, but i tweaked it a lot to work with my pictures.

It is a beautiful life, make sure to take time for yourself and enjoy!!!  I know our kids and homes can take over our lives but it is up to us to not let that happen.  That load of laundry was still there when I was done with this page and it didn't complain when I started folding it.  But I sure felt better folding once I did something to make me happy first!

Two layouts

I am still cranking out the layouts!!  I am still working with papers I got from my last shopping spree at Scrapbook Generation.  Since I have quit receiving Studio Calico kits my layouts have gone back to my tried and true linear style.  Not as much fun stuff going on on the pages...but they are done and in my books!

Tractors and Summer smiles!

The annual steam engine show is still one of Dave's favorite.  I picked up some papers at my LSS Scrapbook Generation that I knew I could use for this page! Nothing too exciting but it's one for the books!

Trying to make up for doing a bunch of Allison layouts all in a row.  Ashley gets to steal the show with Brogan, what a fun day!  Again I just picked up these papers to get some summer layouts done.  I used a layout by Libelula for inspiration.

P.S. It's the most wonderful time of the year....Baseball playoffs....Go Cards!

Halloween too

I did a little bit of shopping this past weekend at my LSS Scrapbook Generation.  I tired to pick up papers for pictures I knew I had left to scrap.  I saw this great Halloween costume inventory paper and picked it up to document these two cuties costumes.  Ugh costumes.....I have not pushed my kiddos to decide what they want to dress up as and I really don't have time to think about it.  Anyone else there with me?  Allison keeps telling me she wants to be a mermaid...again?  Is it bad if I make her wear last years costume :)

Halloween

I am slowing working on my 2014 pile of pictures, my goal is to be done by the end of 2015.  Two more months to crank out some layouts.  December will be set aside for a December Daily Album but I still haven't figured out what I want to do this year.  Not enough time in the days!  These layouts came toghether farilry quickly and I used some of my stash!

Ski

I had scrapped quite a few layouts of Allison so Ashley was due for one of her own.  So proud of this girl when she got up on water skis for the very first time.  She has really turned it on this summer and is even asking to go skiing.  I hope that this is the start of something fun!

Boating

A quick layout from last summer of the kiddos as we were leaving Snake Cove.  Sadly we didn't make it to Snake Cove this summer, we really didn't do any coving out this year.  The weather has turned to Fall so I don't think we will have any more chances this year...so it will be must do next summer!

Dreams

Another quick layout scraplifted from this layout by Jenn.  This one sat on my desk for awhile but I am glad it's done.  My last two layouts have been all Allison so I need to do a couple for Ashley now...all is fair in the sisters world.

This little girl fights bedtime...sometimes.  She is either tired and it is not problem or she is not tired and we fight her.  So this is what happens when she fights us....this used to happen quite a bit.

Allison

This little girl is sure a treat to have around.  I love her laugh and her hugs the most.  Love her to pieces!

I scraplifted this layout by Magdalena and my Studio Calico Cirque kit.  It was a quick one and I have another one on my desk to finish tonight!

Pony Rides

Another quick layout of Allison riding a pony at our church fundraiser Harvest Home.  I used my Studio Calico kit Far Far away and scrablifted this layout by Christine Palka. I don't frequent Studio Calico as much anymore since they have changed their structure (for the worse in my opinion) but I am glad their inspiration gallery gets projects done for me.

Two new layouts!

I've been busy the lasts couple of nights and have two new layouts to share. On both I used my Studio Calico Far Far Away kit.  I scraplifted this layout as Erica Hernandez.
On this page of Ann and I, I scraplifted this layout by Denise A.  Ugh I just couldn't get that 's' right in cheers, such a funky alphabet.

Best Friends

This was a two page layout from Scrapbook Generation that I broke up into singe layouts.  One of Ashley and a best friend form school and one of me with my best ladies!  Love them both...into the books they go!

You & Me

My poor little blog has been neglected.  It is summer with lots of lake weekends, late nights and all around fun.  But I did manage to squeeze in this layout of the girls from a free kit from Scrapbook Generation (not really free I had to spend over $25 to get it).

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as we are!

Six Flags

This layout is a stash buster, I just used what I have here. A little bit of Studio Calico, Jenni Bowlin, Sassafras, Basic Grey and much more.

The past two years Wendy and I have taken Aidan and Ashley to Six Flags at the end of the summer.  It is a reward for summer reading.  It is so fun to watch them grow to love roller coasters.  The Mine Train and American Thunder are favorites.  They also will do the Screamin' Eagle.  Ashley is already talking about this year!

Blueberries

It's blueberry time!  We have four bushes in our garden and we picked a bowl full two weeks ago.  Last year we went to a blueberry farm just around the corner from our house and picked enough to freeze.  We enjoyed blueberries all year!

This layout is form a free kit I got for shopping at Scrapbook Generation.

Zoo Day

While at Scrapbook Generation this past weekend I picked up this zoo line by Kaiser Craft with these photos in mind.  I love when that happens because then I am inspired to get some layouts done.

Oh Dickerson Park Zoo you are a good zoo but I am so so so spoiled growing up in the St. Louis Metro area.  The St. Louis Zoo puts you to shame.  I call Dickerson Park a two hour zoo.  That's all it takes to see everything and that includes a stop at the concession stand and playing on the playground.  AND to make it worse it cost money and it's not cheap.  But we do keep going back! #smalltownproblems

St. Pat's 2014

St. Pat's is a sacred holiday in this household.  St. Patrick is the patron saint of engineers so we like to celebrate it with lots of beer...makes sense...right?  Tradition is that we head to Ann and Tim's house in Columbia where a bunch of college buddies all meet up.  THIS WAS OUR LAST YEAR (in Columbia).  Ann and Tim purchased a farm and have moved there!  So on Saturday we headed out to the farm an rode four wheelers all day.  We were blessed with a beautiful blue sky day!  The memories of Columbia will live on and so will the St. Pat's celebrations.

Sorry the blog has been quite 1) It's summer and the days are longer so we are outside more and 2) I have been working on my project life album for the month of May.  More to come.

Coving Out

Is it Summer yet?  I am so ready to be coving out!  What is coving out??? Hanging out with your best buddies in a cove preferably with your favorite beverage.  I used a Scrapbook Generation super saver May kit to complete this layout quickly! Now back to day dreaming of warmer weather.

11 years

Last weekend was National Scrapbook Day so I did my part and did some shopping at my local scrapbook store Scrapbook Generation.  I picked up this line by crate paper with these photos in mind.  Dave and I got away for one night to the casino to celebrate 11 years!!!

Dyeing Eggs

Another quick Easter layout with a Scrapbook Generation kit.  Egg dyeing is a yearly tradition...until this year.  We ran out of time this year and were out of town for Easter, I still feel a little bit bad.  The girls begged me to do it...maybe we can dye some summer eggs!

Hoppy Easter

I picked up this generations page kit recently at Scrapbook Generation when they were having an overstock sale.  I knew I had Easter pictures so it was an easy choice.  You all know my love for these kits!

Two layouts!

I am breaking up with Studio Calico, the April kit Lisse Street is my last kit.  I have three unused kits which means it's time to stop and catch up.  Also after five years I am ready for a change.  I scraplifted this beautiful layout by Stephanie Bryan for this layout of Allison with her bestie.

Another scraplift, I used this layout by Megan Liane.  It won't be the end of Studio Calico layouts since I've got those three kits to use up!
