Nuts

The poor cat never really had a name, but he was most commonly know as Nuts....I bet you can guess why.  He was a stray that showed up one cold night two years ago.  We refused to feed him and he refused to leave.  So we fed him.  He was a pretty gentle cat for a stray; he would cuddle in your lap, tolerated being held by the girls and Nuts and Trinity got along well.  Around Thanksgiving of this year he started bringing around his girlfriend and two kittens which we again refused to feed.  So he got fed less if they were around and he disappeared.  I don't know if he found greener pastures or if something got him. So I decided he deserved his own page in memory.

I need to get back into a scrapbooking routine!  I don't want to get too far behind on our memory keeping.

End of the year scrapbooking

I squeezed some time in last night to get these layouts done.  I used an add on kit from that kit company I used to belong to.  The two page layout is a beautiful blue sky weekend at the Resnik's where the kiddos got to shoot guns with the Dads.  The one page layout is from Thanksgiving weekend 2014 where the ladies and kiddos spent the morning at the Zoo.

I need to spend more time in 2016 scrapbooking!  Happy New Year!

Baptism

Sorry I haven't paid much attention to the blog, it is just that time of year.  I haven't had much mojo lately for scrapbooking but I need to fix that because I need to get all of 2014 in the books so I don't fall to far behind.  This is a fairly simple layout of David's baptism last year.

I never once pressured David into being baptized.  I never even mentioned the thought to him.  I know how he works and if he was going to do it, it would be when he was ready.  He always attended mass with us a family and I think he was ready to fully participate.  Plus I think Ashley preparing for her First Communion was a factor also.  On Ashley's First Communion David took his Second, just a little interesting fact there.

Two layouts

I have broken up with my who should not be named kit club .  They have changed a lot in the past few months (cancellation terms, cost, dwindling contents) and really alienated long time customers.  But I still have a few kits laying around that I need to use up.  I used the March Odyssey kit and scraplifted a layout by Tracy.

Again I used my March Odyssey kit and scraplifted a layout by Cari Orellan.

Another reason why I've broken up with who should not be named kit club....there website sucks and I can't link to the layouts I scraplifted.  I do like these layouts but not enough to spend my dollars at the who should not be named kit club.....hehe.

Float Trip

Last summer we took the big kids on their first ever float trip. We decided to do the Black River versus the Current River since you could do a shorter float and the Black does not have as fast a current.  It was a beautiful day and I think everyone had fun...well except for maybe Abby.  I will never forget the look Abby gave me on this trip!  We were bungeed three wide and Abby and I were in the front on the outside.  We were coming into a turn in the river that we were going to have to paddle hard thru to keep form being pushed into the cliff.  As I was instructing Abby to row she looked at me in full terror and screamed "We're going to die!".  We weren't really in any danger and of course we made it thru with no problems.  The best part Megan was sitting on a cooler behind us munching on cheese puffs like nothing was going on.  Love those kiddos!

I wish we could have gone this year also, but weekends are hard to come by in the summer.  Look out 2016 WE ARE COMING BACK!!!

it's a beautiful life

Ahh I squeezed in a little time for myself last night and completed this page.  Scrapbook Generation made it easy since I used one of their kits, but i tweaked it a lot to work with my pictures.

It is a beautiful life, make sure to take time for yourself and enjoy!!!  I know our kids and homes can take over our lives but it is up to us to not let that happen.  That load of laundry was still there when I was done with this page and it didn't complain when I started folding it.  But I sure felt better folding once I did something to make me happy first!

Two layouts

I am still cranking out the layouts!!  I am still working with papers I got from my last shopping spree at Scrapbook Generation.  Since I have quit receiving Studio Calico kits my layouts have gone back to my tried and true linear style.  Not as much fun stuff going on on the pages...but they are done and in my books!
